Temporary Mill Metallurgist

Position Description:
Barrick is looking for a Temporary Mill Metallurgist to join the Mill Department at Williams Operating Corporation in Marathon, Ontario.
The candidate must be able to contribute positively within a team of professional and technical people in a changing, creative, and energetic work environment committed to the production and ongoing development of this 10,000 tpd gold mining operation (base community operation).
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will report to the Chief Metallurgist. Responsibilities include:
Working safely, responsibly and in accordance with applicable legislation, company policy, standards and procedures
Monitoring plant performance, identifying sources of variability and making recommendations for improvement
Conceiving, completing and coordinating investigations, test work and technical projects to support production and maintain performance or to identify and evaluate improvement opportunities to exceed targets
Developing quality control programs within the plant and onsite laboratories
Production and cost forecasting
Monthend production and consumables reporting, daily production reporting as required
Ability to work steady dayshift
Minimum 1-year contract with potential to extend beyond
Qualifications:
Graduate of Mineral Processing or Chemical Engineering with 2 to 3 years of technical experience supporting mineral processing plant operations, including comminution and gold extraction
Proven interpersonal, effective communication and organizational skills
Proven ability to define problems, analyze complex data sets and develop solutions
Computer skills, including Microsoft Office Software
Demonstrated ability to work safely
Demonstrated personal integrity, commitment and perseverance
Proven leadership skills
Integrity focus and a strong work ethic
Proven ability to assess opportunities and deliver results
Proven attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
Excellent organizational, time management and office management skills
Ability to work effectively as part of a team, as well as independently

Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Capability to multi-task, self-manage and self-motivate

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster.
